Yellowstone 2008

What a great trip planned by brother Mike. We took the scenic route to Yellowstone and it took us 12 hours from Salt Lake to Bridge Bay campground. There was a big fire in the park while we were there. We saw it really well on our cruise on Yellowstone Lake. We had a blast at Old Faithful. We all had bikes and rode around and looked at all the cool geysors. We had a few movie nights in the tent trailer including Watcher in the Woods and The Great Outdoors. We stayed at Madison campground for the last part of the trip (Loop C #78). It was beautiful and woodsy. Mike and Chalyn serenaded us around the fire with their farts. We went and sat in the Boiling River Hot Springs. It was so hot and so cold at the same time. Jon left his keys in his pocket and they got lost in the river. I said a prayer in my head that we would find them. We asked everyone to feel around and sfter 5 minutes, this little boy found them!! Miracle! Another trip highlight was when we were stopped on the road by a huge herd of bison. Dozens of them passed right next to our car. Aidan was so excited. We also saw a black bear, grizzly from way far away, moose, giant elk, coyotes, and bison in our campground about 30 feet from us. The kids both slept great. The 4 of us slept on a King bed. Jon, Mike, Annie, and I took a 6 mile hike to the highest point of Yellowstone. It was hard but a beautiful view at the end. I lost the keys to the trailer while we were packing up and we found them after a stressful 25 minutes of looking. Jon and I have key issues. We got 14.9 miles to the gallon pulling a tent trailer. It was a great trip and we all got along great. We have a very fun adventurous family.

Gas was 4.07/gallon in Idaho.

Gallon of milk costs $2.50

a drink from the gas station is 1.29

a combo meal from Jack in the Box is $4.55

1 night at a campsite is $18
